The festival and race is free to all who wish to participate! All are required to register and sign a waiver to receive Kids Run Race Bib Number. Adults are encouraged to register to run with their children. Registered adults will be given Kids Run Race Numbers.

Helpful Tips for Race Day

 

  1. Check the weather forecast for Race Day. Dress accordingly!
  2. Wear comfortable running shoes.
  3. Make sure your kids are wearing sunscreen! Bring extra in case you need to reapply.
  4. Food and drinks will be available at the park. *It is always a good idea to encourage your child to drink lots of fluid on Race Day… even before you arrive to the park!
  5. Familiarize yourself with the park map and race routes. Pay special attention to the following:
    1. Registration
    2. Medical Tent / Lost & Found Tent
    3. Restrooms
  6. Take a picture of your child with your cell phone (with his/her race number) on the day of the race.
  7. Fully charge your cell phone before you come to the park!

Safety Policy

Safety is the top priority for the Cooper River Bridge Run staff and organizers. For that reason, we require all runners to wear a reunification bracelet. This bracelet contains a contact cell phone number that could be called if the child were to become separated from his/her parent during the race. This ensures the parent and child a stress-free race day. Police officers and medical crew are present throughout the park and will call this number to quickly get child and family back together if they become separated. As a courtesy, the Cooper River Bridge Run staff will also offer these bracelets to all families/children present at the park even if they are not racing that day.

Weather Policy

In the event of lightning, the races will either be postponed or cancelled. Rain will be handled on a case -by-case basis. The Mark Clark building on the Citadel’s campus next to Hampton Park may be used as a temporary rain shelter if it appears that the rain is temporary. Announcements will be made regarding the status of the event and races.  Any race news will be posted on social media through Momentum Marketing, Facebook, our website, and a press release.
