13 Mar The 2017 Bridge Run Elite Runners
The 40th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run is only a few weeks away! This year’s race is unlike any other; finisher medals will be handed to EVERY participant that crosses the finish line, we’re celebrating 40 years with 40 days of raffles and events, and last but not least the Elite Runners who will be joining us this year are more phenomenal than ever!
Participating in this year’s Cooper River Bridge Run is 3-time Olympian, American Masters record holder, Villanova University graduate, Jennifer Rhines. The 42-year-old American woman will be joining the other 50,000 Bridge Run participants and will be making her mark as the fastest female competitor.
Coming in strong with the title of the 12th Fastest Person to ever run a 5k, is Thomas Longosiwa. The elite Kenyan participant will be taking on the 2017 Cooper River Bridge Run and his accomplishments are endless! In 2012 he took home an Olympic bronze medal for the 5k and he’s a two-time world championship qualifier for the years 2011 and 2013. We can’t wait to see what he will place on April 1st!
Dominic Ondoro is our defending Cooper River Bridge Run champion! Finishing his last 10K in just a matter of 28:13, Dominic is leaving his competitors in the dust. He also holds the titles of the 2017 Houston Marathon Champion, 2016 Twin Cities Marathon Champion, and the 2014 Grandma’s Marathon Champion. We can’t wait to see if he will remain the Cooper River Bridge Run Champion of 2017!
